As the vehicle dynamics lead for SC Formula Electric, USC's FSAE EV team, I carried out the overhaul of the suspension package to be featured on our 2025 competition car. This project saw the design, manufacturing, assembly, and tuning of the suspension package as I also worked closely with SC Formula Electric's other sub-teams to ensure proper integration and operation of all relevant systems. The particular suspension package featured is a double wishbone, pushrod style suspension with independently adjustable camber, toe, and ride height. The design focused on a fundamentals-first approach, calculating cursory buckling loads, deflections, applied forces, and motion ratios followed by further analysis through FEA. Included with the design of the suspension package which utilized Siemens NX, this project also saw the complete restructuring of the file organization system in place for the suspension packages making navigating for specific parts faster and easier. The manufacturing and assembly of the package was also done entirely in-house with various parts being machined, water jet cut, welded, and painted by myself and other members of SC Formula Electric.
